Kids II Recalls Baby Einstein Color Blocks Due to Violation of Lead Paint Standard

The recall involves the blue block included with the Baby Einstein Discover & Play Color Blocks, Model 30726 and Model 30881. The blocks are made of soft textures and come in different colors. Only date codes of GE7, GF7, and GG7 are included in this recall. The model number and date code are printed on the labels affixed to the green-colored block. Surface paint on the blue block contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard. Read More »

Evenflo Recalls Embrace™ Infant Car Seat/Carriers

The recall involves Evenflo Embrace™ Infant Car Seat/Carriers made before April 8, 2006. The recalled car seat/carriers have model numbers beginning with 317, 320, 397, 398, 540, 548, 549, 550, 556, 597, 598 or 599. Embrace™ infant car seat/carriers made on or after April 8, 2006 are not included in this recall. When used as an infant carrier, the handle can unexpectedly release, causing the seat to rotate forward. When this happens, an infant inside the carrier can fall to the ground and suffer serious injuries. Evenflo has received 679 reports of the handle on the car seat/carriers unexpectedly releasing, resulting in 160 injuries to children. Children's block towers may pose choking risk

Graco Children's Products is recalling Soft Blocks Tower Toys (on Graco Baby Einstein discover and play Activity Centers) sold nationwide from February 2005 to December 2005. The plastic covering on the soft block towers can detach, posing a choking hazard. The soft block tower is a stack of three different shaped stuffed fabric blocks in red, yellow and blue. The soft blocks are one of nine toys that snap onto the tray of the activity center. Only model number 4635BEE with serial numbers 012705 through 063005, which indicates the manufacture dates of January 27, 2005 through June 30, 2005, are included in this recall. Target toy phones sold pose choking hazard

Battat Inc. is recallng Parents® Magazine Record-A-Voice Toy Cell Phones sold nationwide at Target stores from September 2006 to January 2007. The metal pin inside the hinge of the cell phone flip-top can fall out, posing a choking hazard. The toy cell phone plays different songs, sound effects and user recorded messages. The Parents® logo is visible inside the flip-top and on the battery compartment cover. Only items bearing date codes 090106 through 101206 are involved in this recall. Magnets in toy houses pose choking risk

Small World Toys is recalling IQ Preschool Take-Apart Townhouse sold nationwide from December 2004 to Febuary 2007. Small magnets used to connect the wooden pieces to the sides of the townhouse can fall out. If more than one magnet is swallowed, the magnets can attract each other and cause intestinal perforations or blockages, which can be fatal. These wooden toys, for children ages "18+ months," are shaped like houses measuring 8.5 inches high by about 4.5 inches wide. Disney Store Recalls Childrens Footed Pajamas Due to Burn Hazard

The recall involves footed pajamas made of 100 percent cotton. The sleepwear was sold in two styles including green with blue sleeves which has a caterpillar design on the front, and yellow with orange sleeves which has a duck design and Quack! Quack! printed on the front and duck beaks on the feet. Baby Einstein is printed on the back of the sleepwear. Disney Store is printed on a tag inside the pajamas. Infantino Recalls Infant Sling Carriers Due to Fall Hazard

This recall involves the Infantino SlingRider carriers with item numbers: 141-210; 151-210; 151-528; and 151-534. The SlingRider consists of a fabric carrier with a strap attached that is worn by the user to carry an infant up to 20 pounds. The carriers are sold in black or khaki. Infantino is printed on the plastic slider located on the strap. The item number is printed on a label inside the SlingRider. Gerber Products Company Issues Nationwide Allergy Alert on Undeclared Latex in Fashion Tint 9 Ounce Bottles (3 Packs)

Gerber Products Company is voluntarily recalling a limited number of its 3-pack, 9 ounce baby bottles. The Gerber recall results from mislabeling, as the bottles in question contain latex nipples but were labeled as Gerber Fashion Tint Bottles with Silicone Nipples. Only one UPC code is involved in this recall. Latex is a known allergen which can lead to severe allergic reactions in persons sensitive to latex. Hazard: The plastic wheels on the toys can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children. Incidents/Injuries: Small World Toys has received 11 reports of incidents in which a wheel detached from one of these toys. No injuries have been reported.
Description: IQ Baby Pillow Soft Activity Blocks are a set of 19 foam, cloth-covered blocks of various shapes with a plastic carrying case. Recent Death Prompts Renewed Search for Simplicity Cribs with Graco Logo

WASHINGTON, D.C. — After the death of a 19-month baby in Myrtle Creek, Ore., the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Simplicity Inc., of Reading Pa., are renewing the search for recalled Aspen 3 in 1 Cribs with Graco logos. The child died on January 6, 2006, after two of the mattress support slats came out of his recalled crib. He became entrapped between the mattress and the footboard of the crib and suffocated. About 50,000 baby walkers, manufactured by Bike Pro Inc., because the walkers can fit through a standard doorway and are not designed to stop at the edge of a step, posing a falling hazard to babies. Liquid-Filled Teether Recall

The First Years is dedicated to providing parents with safe, high-quality products. In line with this mission, we have issued a voluntary recall of six liquid-filled teethers sold between July 2005 and January 2006 due to possible bacterial contamination. The liquid inside the teethers may contain pseudomonas aeruginosa and pseudomonas putida which can cause serious illness in children if the teether is punctured and the liquid from the teether is ingested.
